KC Empowerment is committed to supporting participants’ rights to live independently with dignity, respect, and choice. Our Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviours and standards for our team members who provide support services, ensuring the rights of all participants are upheld.

Respect:

  • Treat everyone in the KC Empowerment community with dignity and respect.

  • Acknowledge individual needs and respect personal, cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds.

  • Provide empathetic and sensitive care without exploitation, discrimination, or harassment.

  • Maintain participants' right to choose their care and providers freely.
     

Professionalism:

  • Act professionally, ethically, and with integrity, prioritising the community's wellbeing.

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised care per the participant's care plan.

  • Maintain professional boundaries and report any abuse, neglect, or safety incidents to relevant authorities.

  • Communicate openly, maintain necessary qualifications, and adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct.
     

Privacy:

  • Keep participant information confidential and secure, and handle personal and sensitive data responsibly.
     

Health and Safety:

  • Prioritize the health and safety of both participants and staff, performing only qualified and safe support services.

  • Report health and safety concerns and emergencies promptly.
     

Financial Matters and Conflicts:

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and handle participant finances transparently when necessary.

  • Do not accept inappropriate gifts and document any financial transactions or gifts accurately.
     

Ethics:

  • Be honest and truthful, ensure information provided is accurate, and act in the best interest of KC Empowerment and its participants.

  • Document service hours accurately and report any discrepancies or unethical requests.
